Mistakes People Commonly Make Using Facebook
Stepping into the Facebook Arena
Facebook is a very well-known social networking site. Users enjoy it because they can communicate with others at any moment they'd like. With all of the capabilities of Facebook, mistakes can be inevitable. We present two common mistakes made often on Facebook and what you can do to fix them.
Mistake #1 - Not Taking Full Advantage of Facebook's Features
Although Facebook is a popular place to virtually chat and keep up to date with friends, there is so much more features on the site. It is also a wonderful place to share photos. This doesn't mean that you simply upload your photos to your user site and let them sit there. It goes much farther than this.
Once you upload your photos to your Facebook, take some time to perfect your images. First, give a description to your photo album. It helps others know what kind of pictures they're looking at. Second, add a description or caption to each of your photos so that the viewer knows what the picture represents. Give your viewers insight into your reason for this particular photograph.
Once you've added descriptions to all of your photos, you should go through and tag each photo. To do this, go into your photos and select each person in the photos by clicking on their image. Facebook will help you identify each of your Facebook Friends in the photos and then they'll be able to find themselves!
One last element that makes a big difference in your photo collection is your privacy setting. When you open your photo album and click on Edit Info, you can select whether you'd like everyone, only your friends, your network, or no one to be able to view that specific album. This helps you keep control over the viewing of the photos.
Mistake #2 - Friend Searches are Limited
Even though photos add an extra special touch to your Facebook account, your friends make the site worthwhile. The more friends you have, the more networking you'll be able to get done. What you should try to avoid is creating your own account and then letting it sit there quietly without any friends.
Facebook offers several ways for you to find friends on the site and then add them to your own account. Not only can you have the site search your email accounts for friends that are already members of the site, but it lets you send invitations to those individuals that aren't quite there yet. Plus, once you have some friends added to your account, Facebook will seek out friends of friends based on who you've already connected with. And lastly, Facebook can search any network you choose to help you find specific individuals in certain groups around the globe.
So don't get stuck with a site that doesn't do anything for you. Explore what Facebook has to offer.
