Sharing Photos with Like-Minded People on Care2Connect

Make a difference at Care2Connect

|

Care2Connect, with almost 9 million members, was founded as a place where people who want to make a difference in the world could gather. The site offers a Town Hall feel, with discussions, action items, groups dedicated to causes like politics and the environment, and photo sharing.

Do I have to be a lefty to participate?

Nope. Care2Connect offers more than 14,000 groups that cover everything from cooking to animal welfare. Scattered among them are gamers, gardeners, and GLBT groups. Create an account if you want to participate and you'll be directed to My Care2, where you manage your groups, discussions and friends. You can also set up an email account. Each time you use it, a contribution will be made to an environmental cause.

But I want to share photos!

Click My Photos in the Quick Links box on the upper right side of your Care2Connect My Care2 page. You'll be prompted to create an album to store your photos. Choose Public Album if you want everyone to be able to view your photos. If you choose Public Album, you can also choose a category that best describes your photos. Choose Restricted Access if you want to password protect your album.

Decide whether or not you want viewers to tag photos in your album, add a title and a description, and click on Continue.

You can upload as many as 200 photos over a 30-day period (though accounts inactive for 45 days may be subject to storage restrictions.) Care2Connect's photo sharing is currently in beta, so this may change. The single photo upload allows you to upload up to four photos at a time and add titles, descriptions and tags. To use the easy upload option, either drag photos from your desktop, or browse for photos on your hard drive.

The photos you've uploaded will appear on the right side of the screen. Click Return to Album and you can edit your photos, change their order, add comments, view as a slideshow, and share with your network.

Remember, Care2Connect's photo sharing program is in beta. If you're an early adopter, check it out. While you're there, browse the groups -- there's probably one for you.
