An Introduction to Photo Sharing on the iPhone
The Simplicity Of The iPhone Will Surprise You
What was the first thing you did when you got your iPhone? Did you make a call, or a bunch of calls, to all your friends? Or did you immediately investigate how the camera phone works? Did you take a lot of photos on that first great day?
What was the next thing you did? Did you begin to wonder how to share all those fabulous photos you just took? You'll be glad to know that it's incredibly easy to share photos from your iPhone. Here's how.
Introducing... Easy Photo Sharing With Your iPhone.
If you haven't figured out how to take photos with your new iPhone, here's a shockingly brief overview.
The camera is located on the back of your iPhone. Point your camera and you'll be able to see your subject in the display. You can turn your camera sideways or straight to get vertical or horizontal photographs. When you're ready, tap the shutter release. The image will be saved in your iPhone.
Now that you've collected a good selection of images, you'll want to share them with everyone you know. There are several methods to do this.
You can upload your images to a photo sharing site or you can email your friends directly from your iPhone. In addition, you can set any image as wallpaper right on your iPhone, ready to show your friends on the fly.
Of course, you can keep your photos in your iPhone so you can view them as a slide show whenever the occasion arises. You can set how long each image will display, whether to show the images in order or randomly, and which transition effect you like as the photos scroll.
If you'd rather not wait until you meet with your friends, you can send them the images instantly via email. iPhone is compatible with many popular free email services including Yahoo! Mail, AOL, Google email and .Mac Mail. Also, you can use it with host email accounts running POP3 and IMAP email systems.
Assuming you already have an email account, the next thing is to set up your camera phone so it can send email messages.
Simply tap the Mail option on your iPhone main menu and follow the instructions for configuring your email account.
Once that's done, you're set to go. You can send an email with your photos attached directly to your friends and family, just like you would from your computer or your online email account. (Just make sure you follow our other advice about sending photos through email so you don't send boatloads of huge files.)
However, there's more to sharing your photos from your iPhone. Here's a great tip:
You can get an account at Natuba.com, which is a special photo-sharing site specifically for iPhone users. As soon as you register for your free account, you'll receive your own email address that goes directly into your Natuba account.
Anytime you want to put your photos onto the web, Natuba makes it incredibly easy and fast. In short, you simply enter your unique Natuba email address into your iPhone. Choose each photo you want to send to Natuba.
With the photo displayed, click the small icon with the arrow in the lower left-hand corner of your iPhone. Tap the "Email Photo" button. Enter a title and description of your photo and send it to your Natuba email address. The photo will be added to your Natuba account instantly, ready for all to see.
As you can see, sharing photos with your iPhone is easy and incredibly fast... almost as fast as the speed of light, and much more fun.
