8 Reasons I Love Picasa
Picasa: A photographer’s best online friend
Google has taken Internet searching by storm. And Picasa, the site's photo organizing software, puts photographers in one-click heaven.
Find, Organize and Share Your Photos
Here's why I love Picasa:
1. Password Protection
Do you have certain photos that you only want certain people to see? No problem! Picasa lets you password protect those photos so only those you ok can see the shots.
2. Easy Organizing
Forget taking hours to arrange your photos. Picasa automatically finds every image on your computer and organizes them in your Picasa library by date. It literally takes minutes to completely categorize your images. Picasa continues to update and search for photos every time you open the program and the software quickly filters through your computer's hard drive and avoids any folder that you don't want it to search.
3. Multi-Album Photos
You know those vacation photos that also include your best friends? Picasa takes an "instance" of those snapshots that allows the same photo to appear in more than one album without taking up more space on your hard drive.
4. Photo Collages & Movies
Once you complete the photo organization process, Picasa lets you use those snapshots to create several interesting viewing projects. Screensavers automatically load to your desktop and photo collages make fun desktop backgrounds. The software also creates movies based on selected photos. Burning these projects to discs and making them gifts is a breeze.
5. Photo Editing
Editing is easy. Photos can be cropped, fixed for red eye and even captioned. The best part? No matter where you move them (or how you rename them), changes remain.
6. Web Albums
Once you import your photos to your Picasa account, you can select your favorites, star them and add them to your own personal Picasa Web Album, where others can view photos and slideshows.
7. Print At Home
Make waiting for prints to arrive in your mailbox history. Picasa automatically sets the appropriate sizes so you can print photos quickly and easily on your personal printer.
8. Online Connections
Photo storage and organization aren't the only things Picasa does for you. The software connects to photo sites like Shutterfly, Snapfish, Kodak Gallery, Zazzle, and Walgreens Photo. Here, Picasa lets you purchase prints and products from the online companies. Store pick-up and online shipping from these companies is also available.
Picasa is a great program for lots of reasons and we'll be talking about all of them. But let these first eight get your started. "Take your photos further with Picasa from Google."
