Memorable Photo Books Are Just a Few Clicks Away

Take a look through your photos. Are they organized neatly in boxes? Do you wish that you had the time and energy to pull them out and turn them into photo books beaming with color and creativity?

Start creating memorable photo books

Although creating a photo book seems to be a daunting task, there are three simple ways to finally pull those pictures out and make them into a spectacular memory display.

1. Create a calendar. Not only would this make a fabulous gift, but a calendar is the perfect way to display your pictures. Either made by hand or online your twelve month photo book would serve two excellent purposes. A calendar could be a permanent fixture that shares memories from the most recent vacation. And, each month could represent the growth of your children and family.

If you would prefer to create this treasure online, visit Shutterfly and quickly see a finished product. Go to www.shutterfly.com and click on "Shutterfly Store" from the top menu bar. On the left hand side, select "Calendars" from the products list. Within a few steps, you'll have your format selected, your pictures uploaded and your calendar complete.

2. Go digital. If you like the photo idea but don't have the time to do it by hand, try Blurb. Blurb.com lets you download their free bookmaking software to your computer. The software allows you to upload your photos and create a photo book format.

Not only do you have the option of making it soft or hard cover but you can even put your project in the "Blurb Bookstore" so that others can purchase it as well. The crisp photos and the at-your-doorstep convenience make this process easy and good looking. And, the ink and paper are guaranteed to last many years.

If you use a Mac, you can also use iPhoto to create photo books. We have a number of articles on our site showing you how to do this.

3. Think handmade. As challenging as it may sound in the beginning, a handmade photo book can do miracles for your coffee table. Not only did you personally have a hand in making it, but you can add personal touches to it that aren't always available online. Plus, craft stores like Michael's and Hobby Lobby sell photo book templates that let you just stick your photos on.

If you go this route, be sure to use acid-free adhesive and pens so that your project will last through the years.

You don't have to be a professional to create picture perfect photo books. All you really need are some memories and a little bit of time.
