How To Quickly and Easily Upload Your Photos To Flickr
You Have Several Options To Upload Your Photos For Sharing on Flickr
Figuring out how to upload photos to share with others can be confusing and intimidating. Fortunately, Flickr has made it so simple that an 8-year-old can do it. You have five options, and they're all easy and fast.
Five simple methods to upload your photos
Flickr enables five different methods to upload your photos to its photo-sharing site. Some are easier than others.
Flickr Uploadr
You can upload using the Flickr Uploadr. You can download and install this free software on your computer. It is available for both PC and Mac computers and is free of the intrusive hidden programming that many other programs install without your permission.
It's a simple program with a screen for adding your images in preparation for uploading to the Flickr site. You'll need to have a Flickr account and sign in to use it.
You simply choose your photos, add a title, a description and keywords to each photo. You can choose who can see the uploaded photos and you can hide them from the rest of the online community.
When you have all your photos selected, you simply hit the "Create a set..." button to upload your photos to your personal account on Flickr.
iPhoto Plug-in for Mac users
If your photos are on iPhoto, you can get a plug-in from one of Flickr's members. It allows you to quickly and efficiently copy your photo collections from iPhoto and load them on Flickr.
Another member has created a similar program for PC and Mac users: jUploadr for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.
Third party photo upload programs
There are third party photo upload programs that you can access to move your photos to Flickr. Your digital camera likely came with a software program for downloading your images to your computer. If it has the capability, you can use it to create sets of images and then upload your photos to Flickr.
Email your images with Flickr Mobile
If you have a camera phone, you'll love the capability Flickr Mobile provides. You can upload photos directly to Flickr from your cell phone and have them appear online within seconds.
After you've taken your photo, use your cell phone to go to http://m.flickr.com/ and access the web page with instructions on how to upload your photos to Flickr.
Use Flickr's upload web page
Apart from the cell phone option, this is by far the simplest and quickest way to upload photos to Flickr.
Sign in to your account and click on the gray arrow beside the link, "You" at the top of your screen. From the drop down menu, choose "upload photos". Step 1 will automatically be highlighted. Click the link and a window will appear. Choose photos from your computer, click "upload photos" and you'll get a menu where you can set your preferences. When you're done, click "upload photos".
Choose the option that's right for you and you can upload photos easily and quickly, ready to share with others.
